"Dieter Bové came to our fire department and conducted a very educational training session for all of our members. The session was informative and well taught. Being firefighters we are asked many questions regarding fireplaces and chimneys, Dieter was able to help us with many of the routine answers. He also brought to our attention many little known facts about chimneys and fireplaces. There are many variables when it comes to types of chimneys and even types of fireplaces. “Dieter Bové first made his skills as an instructor apparently several years ago when he asked if it would be possible to give a presentation on chimney fires to members of the district. We all knew that Dieter was a certified chimney sweep and that he had an excellent reputation in the community for his chimney cleaning work. Never missing an opportunity for training, we told him that his presentation would be a great idea.
The presentation that Dieter gave to all shifts of the District was outstanding. It was designed to instruct the firefighter in what he/she needs to know about solid-fuel appliances. It was clear, concise and to-the-point. Information was given in a very straightforward, understandable manner that was designed for firefighters. The presentation also included handouts for future reference. Any questions that were posed to Dieter were quickly and expertly answered. Dieter continues to be asked to present his class on fireplace and chimney fires.
